The goals here are to develop programs, classes, and mental-health therapy services that are accessible for all, through the use of expressive alternative therapies, Cognitive Behavioral intervention and combined therapeutic treatments. Treatment plans are developed with client goals in mind and are often based on assessment outcomes. We focus on affect/emotions, behavior/triggers, cognition/beliefs, and physiological/neurological processes to help increase therapy outcomes. Overall wellness and methods for healing become more viable when these interventions are combined and practiced. Ultimately, the optimal goal is for clients to establish the areas they wish to change, experience the therapeutic process in diversified ways, and be afforded the support needed to accomplish their goals in therapy.

Hands-of-Grace Intern Program
Hands-of-Grace Intern Program was developed with the understanding that in this life, people may need or experience grace. Grace is defined as a type of finesse or gift handed through the hand of one’s presence. It is a biblical and spiritual tenet that allows individuals to recognize in their most critical, necessary, and vulnerable moments that answers of relief can come in unexpected ways and timing. The purposes of the internship program are to grow individuals into the practice of becoming certified or licensed as a professional counselor and to offer mental-health therapy services, at a reduced rate, to support clients in the surrounding community. Interns are under the supervision of the university professor and Dr. Lisa A. Wines, the site supervisor, and therefore are being trained via methods of teaching, practice, modeling, mentorship, research, observation, feedback, and evaluation.
Clients must meet eligibility requirements, sign the addendum that outlines the scope and limitations of the intern program, and furnish the requested documentation in order to participate in the internship program.
